In a remarkable celebration of dedication, endurance, and educational passion, Omajuwa Chris Simeon Ajuwa, affectionately known as “The God of Literature,” has etched his name into the history books by completing a 220-hour non-stop Literature in English teach-a-thon in Warri, Delta State. This extraordinary feat, officially tagged the “Warri Global Records” teach-a-thon, has captured widespread admiration across the education community and beyond, putting a spotlight on how innovation and perseverance can elevate teaching to inspirational new heights.

A Marathon of Knowledge: What Happened

Ajuwa’s teaching marathon began precisely at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, and continued without interruption until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Over ten straight days, he delivered continuous lessons in Literature in English, drawing attention not only for the length of the session but also for the determination and stamina behind it.

At the closing ceremony on Thursday, December 18, community leaders, educational officials, and local government representatives came together to honor his incredible dedication. Describing his achievement as a product of unwavering determination rather than mere publicity, officials acknowledged the rare commitment it takes to sustain such a marathon teaching effort.

Local Government Commendation: A Celebration of Excellence

Representatives from both the Delta State Government and the Warri South Local Government Council spoke on the significance of Ajuwa’s teach-a-thon. They praised him for uplifting the educational profile of Warri and, by extension, Delta State and Nigeria as a whole. The initiative was celebrated as a powerful demonstration of passion for knowledge, leadership in education, and positive projection of the Nigerian education sector.

During remarks at the closing event:

  • Mrs. Rose Ezewu, Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education (represented by the Warri South Chief Inspector of Education), highlighted that the marathon was not a stunt but a truly inspirational commitment rooted in determination.
  • Comr. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area, congratulated Ajuwa for bringing pride to his community and country.

Acknowledging the Journey

At the heart of this historic achievement is Ajuwa’s profound gratitude. In his response, he thanked God, local government officials, and Fresh Angle International for their support throughout the record-breaking effort. The teach-a-thon was a vivid showcase of teamwork, perseverance, and community collaboration.

He also acknowledged the challenges faced during the marathon — from long hours and physical strain to environmental discomfort — and emphasized that the success of the endeavor was only possible because of the unwavering belief and support of his team and supporters.

Inspiring a Generation Through Education

Ajuwa’s record-setting teach-a-thon sends a powerful message to teachers, students, and communities alike: education is not just a profession but a lifelong mission of growth, service, and impact. His achievement ignites conversations on the value of creative approaches to teaching, the spirit of innovation in education, and the potential for educators to inspire beyond conventional classroom boundaries.

Such efforts also reinforce the idea that teaching is not just about content delivery but about leading with passion, engaging hearts and minds, and elevating the profession to a respected and celebrated craft.
