The Students’ Union of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) has issued a strong and timely warning to all students, cautioning them against involvement with a group identified as NEOLIFE, following reports of increased approaches to students within and around the campus.
The advisory, released by the Office of the Public Relations Officer of the Students’ Union, underscores growing concerns about student safety, academic focus, and the tactics allegedly being used to lure unsuspecting students away from their core academic responsibilities.

According to the official notice, members of the NEOLIFE group have reportedly been approaching students on campus, often presenting themselves in corporate-looking outfits or uniforms to create a sense of legitimacy and trust. The Students’ Union warned that such appearances should not be mistaken for credibility or institutional endorsement.
The Union emphasized that participation in the group’s activities could distract students from their studies, disrupt academic progress, and potentially expose them to risks that may affect their personal safety and future.
Allegations of Manipulative Recruitment Tactics
The advisory further alleged that the group may employ manipulative communication strategies, including misleading statements and false promises, to persuade students to join. Students were therefore urged to remain vigilant, question unsolicited offers, and maintain firm personal boundaries.
The Union advised students to prioritize their academic and career goals, stressing that no external group should compromise their purpose for being in the university.
Clear Instructions to Students
In clear and direct terms, the Students’ Union instructed students that if they are approached by members of the group, they should:
- Avoid engaging in any discussion or interaction
- Decline invitations politely but firmly
- Report the incident immediately to Students’ Union representatives
- Inform lecturers, relevant school authorities, or campus security personnel

The notice highlighted the Campus Entrepreneurship Centre as a credible and approved platform where students can learn career-relevant and vocational skills aligned with their fields of study. These include software-related skills, structural and technical design, drafting tools, and other practical digital competencies.
Such skills, the Union noted, are designed to enhance employability, support professional growth, and prepare students for life after graduation without exposing them to unnecessary risks.
