Senator Ned Nwoko, representing the Delta North Senatorial District, has announced a free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration programme for 1,500 students across the district as part of efforts to reduce financial barriers to tertiary education for young people.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Wednesday through the senator’s official communication channel, where he explained that the initiative is rooted in his belief in education as a critical driver of development and empowerment.
In his words, “education is the foundation upon which lasting development is built,” stressing further that “no qualified student should be denied access to higher education due to financial constraints.”
Nwoko described the intervention as part of his wider commitment to human capital development within Delta North and a deliberate effort to support students who are preparing to sit for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
“In furtherance of my commitment to human capital development, I am pleased to announce the commencement of a free JAMB UTME registration drive for 1,500 students from the Delta North Senatorial District for the 2026 academic year,” he stated.
The programme is open to students from all nine local government areas of the senatorial district — Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South, and Ukwuani.
Outlining the eligibility requirements, the senator noted that applicants must meet specific criteria to benefit from the scheme.
“Eligible applicants must be 16 years or older by 30th September 2026 and must generate their JAMB profile code using their National Identification Number,” the statement read.
He further explained that beneficiaries are expected to submit their full name, JAMB profile code, and council ward for documentation and verification under the initiative.
Nwoko also drew attention to the timeline attached to the programme, urging interested candidates to act swiftly.
“The deadline for this registration is Sunday, 15th February 2026,” he added.
Reaffirming his focus on youth empowerment and educational advancement, the senator concluded by stating, “I remain resolute in advancing policies and programmes that expand access to education, empower our youths, and strengthen the social and economic future of Delta North.”
