JAMB Confirms When 2026 UTME Candidates Will Know Their Exam Towns

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has provided clarity on when candidates for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will know their examination towns and centres. According to the board, candidates will soon be able to access this information by printing their examination slips from the official portal.

The examination slip will contain essential details, including the exam town, exam centre, exam date, and session time, ensuring candidates have all the information needed ahead of their CBT examination. JAMB emphasized that these details will be made available “in due course” as the UTME approaches.

The announcement comes after concerns among candidates about when and how their exam centre details would be released. While some states experienced temporary adjustments to exam town selection during registration, such as Ekiti State, JAMB reassured the public that the process is being finalised nationwide.

The 2026 UTME registration drew over 1.5 million candidates, highlighting the scale of the annual examination. The board’s update aims to reduce confusion and ensure all candidates are well-prepared ahead of their scheduled examinations.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official JAMB portal and proceed to print their examination slips once they become available. This slip will serve as the official document confirming their allocated CBT centre and session.
