FUTMINNA Restricts Okada Entry After 7PM, Adjusts Night Transport Policy to Boost Campus Security

The management of the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA) has announced an immediate adjustment to transport entry regulations within the university campus, placing new restrictions on the movement of commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada.

In an official notice addressed to students, the institution informed the university community that Okada operators will no longer be permitted to enter the school premises after 7:00 p.m., effective immediately.

According to the directive, students who need transportation within the campus after 7:00 p.m. are advised to make use of Keke (tricycles), which will now be allowed to operate within the university environment between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

The management further clarified that the university gate will be officially locked at 10:00 p.m. daily. After this time, no entry will be permitted into the campus using any form of commercial vehicle.

The adjustment, the university explained, is part of a broader strategy to enhance campus security, regulate vehicular movement, and ensure effective monitoring of activities within the school environment during late hours. By limiting motorcycle access at night and setting a definitive gate closure time, authorities aim to reduce security vulnerabilities and maintain order across the institution’s facilities.

Students have been strongly advised to adjust their schedules and movements accordingly in order to avoid inconvenience or being stranded outside the campus gate.
