JAMB Confirms No Extension for 2026 UTME Registration Deadline

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that there will be no extension of the registration deadline for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Prospective candidates have been strictly warned to complete their registration before February 26, 2026, or risk being barred from participating in the examination.

In a statement released on Monday, the board emphasized the importance of adhering to the timeline, stating that the strict deadline is necessary to ensure proper planning and smooth conduct of the exams across the country. The Registrar of JAMB, [name if available], noted that all logistics, examination centers, and staff assignments have been scheduled based on the current registration timeline.

“We urge all candidates to complete their UTME registration on or before February 26. No exceptions will be made, and no further extension will be granted. Candidates who fail to register by the deadline will not be allowed to sit for the examination,” the statement read.

JAMB also reminded candidates that registration involves multiple steps including profile creation, fee payment, and biometric capture. Candidates are advised to double-check their information and ensure they meet all the requirements to avoid last-minute challenges.

For candidates who have faced challenges during registration, JAMB advised reaching out immediately to accredited CBT centers for assistance. The board reiterated that delays in registration could lead to missed examination opportunities, as the UTME is a mandatory step for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
