In a major step towards strengthening the administrative and leadership capacity of healthcare professionals in Nigeria, the Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programme in Hospital Administration and Management for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The programme is being organized by LASU Consult Limited in collaboration with the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, and aims to bridge the gap between medical expertise and effective hospital management in Nigeria’s evolving health sector.

About the Programme
The Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Administration and Management is a one-year intensive academic programme focused on providing students with a deep understanding of hospital operations, health economics, leadership, and healthcare policy implementation.
It will combine classroom instruction with real-world exposure at LASUTH, enabling students to learn directly from experienced hospital administrators and industry practitioners.
The programme reflects LASU’s mission to offer qualitative education tailored to meet societal and industrial needs, particularly in areas such as healthcare delivery, administration, and management.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible, candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Holders:
- Applicants must hold a degree in Science, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy, Humanities, or Social Sciences from a recognized institution.
- Candidates must have five (5) credit passes at the O’Level, including English Language and Mathematics.
- HND Holders:
- Applicants with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Social Sciences, Management Sciences, or Sciences are also eligible.
- They must equally possess five (5) credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and other relevant subjects.
- Mature Candidates:
- Candidates with a minimum of three (3) O’Level credits who can demonstrate relevant professional experience may be considered under special circumstances.
Programme Duration
The PGD in Hospital Administration and Management will run for one (1) academic session, offering both theoretical and practical modules that blend management science with healthcare realities.
Classes will be held within LASUTH, Ikeja — providing students with firsthand exposure to hospital systems and professional health management environments.
Application Procedure
Interested applicants are invited to obtain their application forms at the:
Workforce Planning and Recruitment Unit, MRC Building, LASUTH, Ikeja, Lagos.
The application fee is Ten Thousand Naira (₦10,000) only.
Applicants are to complete the form and submit it along with:
- Photocopies of academic credentials,
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV),
- Two (2) recent passport photographs (white background), and
- Any other relevant supporting documents.
Screening and Selection Process
All applicants will be required to undergo a Computer-Based Test (CBT) as part of the screening process.
Successful candidates from the CBT will proceed to the oral interview stage, during which they will be required to present their original certificates and credentials for verification.
Only candidates who successfully pass both stages of the selection process will be offered admission into the programme.
