What is OAU Cut off Mark?

Most people have already known about what Cut Off Mark is. But for those who didn’t. Don’t worry, I’ll explain it to you.

Cut-Off Mark simply means a certain mark that applicants must score in other to be qualified for admission.

If candidate doesn’t get the required mark such candidate will not be eligible for admission.

For example, if OAU sets the JAMB cut-off mark to 180, any student who scores less than 180 should automatically start thinking about other institutions.

In general, you’re expected to get a higher mark or a precise cut mark in UTME, as this will increase your chances of gaining admission.

Has OAU released 2024 Cut off mark?

Yes!

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) 2024 JAMB and Post UTME Cut Off Mark for the 2024/2025 academic session has been released. The official OAU Cut Off Mark 2024/2025 is 200.

This publication is just to give you an idea of what the 2024 OAU Cut Off Mark for JAMB and Departmental will be.

At this point, we believe you should have known that meeting with OAU cut off is necessary and mandatory for OAU Post UTME application form.

Additional information about OAU departmental cut off mark 2024/2025

  1. The OAU JAMB Cut off mark is 200. Applicants must make OAU as their first choice of institution in JAMB.
  2. Applicants must also complete at least 5 credit pass per session in a relevant O’Level subject, such as Math and English.

With all these requirements, you have a good chance of being admitted to Obafemi Awolowo University. Make sure you have a good O’Level score and a good JAMB score.

FAQs about OAU Cut Off Mark

How is the OAU cut-off mark determined?

Great question! The cut-off mark isn’t just plucked out of thin air. It’s influenced by things like the overall performance of applicants in the UTME, the number of available spots in each department, and the popularity of the course.

Does the cut-off mark change every year?

Yes, it can. Depending on the factors we just mentioned (like applicant performance and course popularity), the cut-off mark may change from one academic year to the next.

Is the cut-off mark the same for all courses at OAU?

No! Each department at OAU has its own cut-off mark, based on the factors we discussed earlier. So, the cut-off mark for Medicine might be different from the one for Sociology, for example.

I scored just below the cut-off mark. Do I still have a chance of getting in?

While the cut-off mark is a crucial part of the admission process, it’s not the only thing that OAU looks at. Factors like your O’level results and performance in the post-UTME can also come into play. So don’t lose hope just yet!
