The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, has recovered a vehicle believed to be connected to a violent armed robbery that occurred in Minna earlier this week.
Operatives of Operation Flush acted on credible intelligence and a tip-off from security personnel in the Three Arms Zone area on Saturday morning, 7 March 2026. The officers discovered an abandoned vehicle suspected to have been used by the robbery suspects.
Preliminary examination revealed the car was riddled with bullet holes and had traces of blood inside, suggesting that some of the assailants may have been injured during the robbery or while fleeing the scene. The vehicle has been secured by NSCDC officials for further investigation.
The robbery took place on Friday afternoon, 6 March 2026, along Shiroro Road, when a bank customer was trailed by assailants after withdrawing cash in Minna. The attackers allegedly struck at a nearby restaurant, robbed the victim of more than ₦10 million, and forced him out of his vehicle. In a dramatic turn, the victim reportedly disarmed one of the robbers, seizing a rifle before the assailants fled.
Following the recovery of the vehicle, the NSCDC confirmed that the case has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and apprehension of the perpetrators. Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, who leads the Niger State Command, reiterated the Corps’ commitment to supporting other security agencies and urged the public to provide credible information that could aid law enforcement in curbing crime.
