NNPC Reduces Petrol Price to ₦1,130 in Lagos, ₦1,165 in Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced a reduction in petrol prices at its retail outlets, offering relief to motorists and businesses across the country.

Effective Wednesday, March 11, 2026, petrol at NNPC stations in Lagos is now being sold at ₦1,130 per litre, down from ₦1,230, marking a ₦100 decrease. In Abuja, the fuel price has been adjusted to ₦1,165 per litre, down from ₦1,260, a reduction of ₦95.

The new pricing was confirmed at NNPC retail stations in key locations including Isheri-Oshun Road, Apple Junction, and Ago Palace Way in Lagos, as well as Jabi and Wuse in Abuja.

The price cut follows a similar adjustment by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which recently reduced its ex-depot petrol price by ₦100 to ₦1,075 per litre. However, several private marketers have yet to fully reflect the refinery’s price reduction at their pumps.

Experts attribute the decrease to falling global crude oil prices, which have eased after earlier geopolitical tensions in the Middle East caused spikes. The adjustment is expected to positively impact transportation, logistics, and the pricing of goods and services that rely heavily on fuel.

Motorists and transport unions have welcomed the price reduction, expressing cautious optimism that further adjustments may follow as market conditions continue to improve.
