- Ordinary Seaman: The first official rank after completing training, Ordinary Seamen are primarily involved in routine deck duties on a ship.
- Able Seaman: With more experience and skills, an Able Seaman takes on more responsibilities and can be tasked with supervising newer seamen.
- Leading Seaman: This is a leadership role among the junior ranks, where the Leading Seaman helps manage and train a team of seamen.
- Petty Officer: A significant step up, Petty Officers have specialized skills and take on supervisory roles within their specialization.
- Chief Petty Officer: As a senior non-commissioned officer, Chief Petty Officers hold considerable authority, overseeing sections or departments and involved in the training and welfare of their personnel.
